So I met Stephanie Okereke-Linus a couple of weeks ago at the launch of the Vlisco store here in Lagos. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised! Not only was she radiant- pregnancy really looks good on her! She was also really jovial and friendly.
She spoke about a lot of things- her new movie , Dry, which would be premiering very soon, her reality show…
Then I asked her about her advice to young women who had dreams they were trying to achieve. Entrepreneurs, career women and business owners alike
That was when she gave the advice. She said “Don’t be afraid.”
She went on to say-
“When I have ideas or dreams and I want to put them in action, I do not look at what people would say. I’m not even scared of failing. I just jump in and put all my heart into it. My advice to every young woman out there is put in your best, shut down the voice of fear and don’t be afraid!”
It resonated soundly with me and I hope it does with you. Funny enough the voice of fear may not only come from others but also from your own self.
In this new month and beyond, may we find the grace to shut out the voice of fear and reach for our dreams!
May your month be filled with laughter and Joy!
